How much could you earn if you made up one of your designs and sold it? Enough to pay for the materials?

What does the public want?
Visit your local stationers and look through the women’s magazines for the handcraft article titles. Write them down. Visit Amazon and look at the subjects that are most popular. Visit eBay and see what handcraft items have most bidders.
If you find something that is in enormous demand, does this demand mean that you can sell your designs? Unfortunately no. Artistic things either click with the public or they don’t. Most of the time there is no logical explanation. You either like something or you don’t.

The needed materials are the following, some basic strawberry baskets, a yarn or some materials intended for scrap, some pieces of shredded paper.

Basically, get the fabric scraps or the yarn and carefully weave the yarn slowly through the strawberry basket holes.

Ten ordinary clothespins of matching size
Cardboard or cereal box
Construction paper
Glue
Varnish or other spray to enhance the wood

Unfortunately, you may have to use clothespins that still have some life left in them, as the ten clothespins need to be of uniform size. Take your construction paper and lay it out on the cardboard or cereal box. Then cut the excess cardboard away. Glue the construction paper to the cardboard. Start by helping your kids cut a long rectangle out of the felt. The rectangle should be at about 4 inches in width and 10 inches in length. Now help your kids fold the bottom 4 inches up to form a pouch, and help them sew the sides of the pocket. Use a pair of scissors to cut a small horizontal slit about half an inch down from the top of the rectangle that is not sewn. Fold the top flap down and use a pen to mark where the slit is on the inside of the pouch. Help kids sew the button to this spot. And the gelt bag will be completed. Start by helping kids cut the plate in half and paint it whatever color you like. Use the marker to draw nine branches of the menorah on the plate.
